Accounting education as an expression of accounting culture. Elements for an interpretation
Abstract
From a hermeneutic perspective, as a construction of horizons of meaning, the article presents two conceptions of education: one that associates it with individuation and another that links it to socialization. It is discussed whether both conceptions converge in a common place from which an affirmative and universalist vision of the subject is configured; on the contrary, the possibility of an education that can form a citizen committed to his own formation, to the transformation of his knowledge and to the understanding of the needs and problems of the context is proposed. It concludes with a reflection on accounting education and how, from the approach of some provocative questions, it is possible to begin to move towards an education as an expression of an accounting culture, which corresponds to the ideals of an integral and humanistic education, sensitive to the world of life in all its expressions.
