Study of academic and sociodemographic characterization of the students linked to the Public Accounting program of the city of Cartagena, Colombia
Abstract
Higher education in Colombia faces great challenges, such as the expansion of coverage, and the strengthening of the quality of the institutions that exist in the market with programs in the professional cycle. However, during the last two decades the number of students enrolled has grown significantly. In Cartagena, the students who enter the Public Accounting program are mostly from strata 1 and 2, from popular neighborhoods, in limited socioeconomic conditions, lack technological tools, and internet connection services.
