Sustainable accounting. An analysis of the 10 most important trends worldwide and their influence on companies and society
Abstract
This paper examines 10 trends in sustainable accounting and their impacts on businesses and society. Sustainable accounting is defined as a type of financial reporting that considers economic, social and environmental impacts. These 10 trends include corporate responsibility, renewable energy, environmental conservation, social responsibility, carbon accounting, regulatory compliance, reporting standards, impact investing, technology for sustainability, and awareness of sustainability issues. Benefits and challenges of sustainable accounting are discussed.
